The Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon calendar makes jumps on certain days. One very notable such jump is at the leap day on February 29 every four years (Olympic years such as 2004).

The Traditional Sacred Calendar/Mayan however never makes any jumps and is perfectly regular. It follows the uninterrupted flow of divine creation and assigns a Sacred energy of time to every day. Every day, without exception, has a sign and a number associated with it. The idea that there would be days without an energy in the Sacred Calendar seems very alien to Mayan day-keepers and it is not easy to interpret what this would mean.

What would make February 29, 2004 so different from all other days that it would not have a spiritual energy?

I just read in the 13 moon calendar book that just as July 25 is the day out of time for us, leap year day (Feb 29) is like another day out of time. This is what it reads exactly:

"The 13 moon/28-day calendar is a perfection of harmony that reflects and is synchronized by the synchronic order. This is a purely fouth-dimensional order of reality, and its perfection of cycles of time are in absolute harmony with the higher dimensional order of reality. For this reason, within it's own system, the 13 moon calendar does not recognize Feb 29/Leap Day. However it does account for this day as 0.0.Hunab Ku. This day can be viewed as an extra "Day out of time" which is no day of the week or moon, hence 0.0.Hunab Ku.

This day occurs every four years precisely between the 22nd and 23rd days of the Galactic Moon. You wil see the Hunab Ku symbol between those two days, signifying the 0.0.Hunab Ku. This is an especially spiritual day since Hunab Ku refers both to the center of the Galazy and to the Supreme Creator, One Giver of Movement and Measure."

So basically this is saying that just as we have a "day out of time" once a year to reflect and to tune in even more with the earth and God, this extra "day out of time" or "leap day" is even more significant because it also refers to the center of the galaxy and not just the center of earth.

Hope I sort of helped answer your question. I'm still learning all of this myself!
